Marco Schmidt is Professor at University of Würzburg. His research deals with earth observation and environmental monitoring with robotics and space technology.

From 2021 to 2022, Marco Schmidt was Professor at the newly founded CERI institute (Center Robotics) at the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg Schweinfurt.

Before, from 2014 to 2021, he was Professor at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, where he initiated the Robotics and Computer Technology group at Campus Velbert Heiligenhaus.
