Dr. Bianca Szasz

Dr. Bianca

Dr. Bianca Szasz holds a PhD degree in Space Systems Engineering from Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) in Japan. Prior degrees, Master of Science and Bachelor Degrees in Aerospace Engineering, were earned from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania. She has done her Diploma Engineer thesis with Erasmus Program, in Germany, at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) and she worked for 8 months as a Guest Scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

The main experience in space engineering she gained during the 5 years when she studied and worked in Japan. She was the leader for the thermal subsystem of the Shinen2 university space mission, launched to space in 2014 with Hayabusa 2, she studied about ablative materials for reentry probes and was the leader of several high enthalpy heating tests at JAXA Sagamihara campus and, later, she worked for Ten-Koh 1 space mission. After leaving Kyushu Institute of Technology, she was employed as a Special Assistant Professor at Nagoya University, being a mentor in the program "Leadership Development Program for Space Exploration and Research", mentoring graduate students in microsatellite design. Currently, back in Europe, she works for European space projects at a space company, Omnidea.
